My Marina isn't signed up
I think this website would benefit the berth holders at my marina, you should have a referral method, rewarding sailors for introducing marinas to the service

Hi Edward, thank you for your comments, currently we rely on the good will of people like yourself to suggest to their home marina that they should sign up to The Waypoint, however a referral method could be introduced if it can be made very simple and if enough members ask for it. Warm Regards James

Hi Sean,
We are currently developing our smart-phone optimised website, and expect it to be ready shortly. I will let you know when it is live.
We have chosen to initially provide a mobile phone browser optimised website so that any phone with a browser can book, however we may in the near future, feedback dependant, provide Apps for the popular operating systems.
Best Wishes

Why no French marinas?
I like to cruise on the French coast, how can I book a berth in France?

Hi Duncan, Thank you for your feedback. At the moment the precise location of a berth is left up to the mooring manager, he can easily add the lat and long to the berth details, which you receive when you make a booking. In the future we will streamline this process by allowing managers to easily add his berths exact location when he uploads them. I shall keep you updated of the progress with this matter.

User guides
I found aspects of the site very confusing, have you thought of having user guides or videos to help users

Doesn't work! Useless!
Searched for an available berth in Dartmouth for the 23 June 2011, and your site took me to Halifax in Nova Scotia.

Hello Paul, We are now looking into the best way of rectifying this error, with the most likely solution being, locking down searches to the United Kingdom and Ireland, in the mean time the site will still work if you type UK after any location you enter. Thank you ever so much for your feedback, early constructive criticism is essential to deliver a great service and your help is very much appreciated. Warm Regards

Hi Will, Thank you for your feedback comment. I have added Chiswick Quay Marina to the map. Cheers for the heads up, it looks like a great place to berth.
If you know the harbourmaster maybe you could drop a kind word on behalf of The Waypoint, we’re not keen on cold calling and always prefer boat owners recommendations.

Doesn't Work!
Perhaps this site should be called 'What'sThePoint.com' - it doesn't work, so why launch such a site. I can see 20 vacant visitors berths outside my window in Torquay right now, and yet your search for a vacant berth show nothing! It shows nothing because no one's signed up to this and no one is registered to it. Pointless!

Hello Derick, thank you for your feedback, unfortunately your suggested domain name has already been taken! On a more serious note, The Waypoint has been operational for 8 weeks now, and has 9 marina partners signed up with many more expected to come on board in the next few months. If you would be kind enough to provide me with the name of the marina you mentioned, we can contact them about signing up. We cant just list berths without permission. Keep an eye out for our newsletter, which will keep you up to date on new partners.
